About the Event

In this workshop we work with a variety of choreographic tools which are aimed at performers, teachers and choreographers. During the workshop we’ll learn how to approach creating choreographies from different perspectives and how to add layers to the scenes and the movement. What kind of dynamic choices can you make and what do you need to take into consideration when making a choreography?

Teacher of this work is an Arvo Jean-Michael Ärlig who is an current stage combat teacher student under Oula Kitti and has worked as an contemporary dancer, actor and choreographer. He works with pieces that are built on compositional and task based tools, and wants to take that tradition of written choreographic vocabulary from dance and physical theatre to stage and screen combat context.

This workshop is a part of the final thesis and research of the student teacher and the feedback from the participants will be used in the written paper which will be fully available open to read at a later date, in addition to the participants receiving it for the workshop.

Teacher: Arvo Jean-Michael Ärlig
