The Camp Raid - Easter Workshop 2023

Our traditional Easter workshop will be this year led by one of the Dramatic Combat Finland's founders and teachers Oula Kitti. The guest instructor of the workshop will be Miro Lahtela teaching the Historical European martial arts (hema) techniques. Workshops includes one day filming with the prominent finnish film editor, director and action designer Mikko Löppönen. 

This year we will focus on combining historical martial arts weaponry techniques with camera fighting, in accordance with modern principles of safety and artistic expression. 

Workshop consists of two days of various techniques training, three days of choreography training and one day of filming. You will learn and perform a fight choreography which will be a part of a short movie with a light narrative set in the historical context of Raasepori castle. Each participant will get to be a melee weapon wielding hero in their own scene. There will be multiple opponents fights and dramatic duels, heroes, villains and background fighting.

You will receive the video material for personal use later on. There will be a feedback meeting arranged after the workshop.

26.3., 11:00 - 17:00 Hema and film fighting techniques (Fight Sunday)

6.-8.4. 10:00 - 17:00 Technique and choreography training 

9.4. 8:00 - 18:00 Filmshoot at The Raseborg Castle - a medieval castle, that was active from 1370s to 1553. (Reserve the whole day!)

*Participants will be expected to organise their own rides to Raasepori but we will do our best to help coordinate joint rides and shared travel possibilities.

Our workshop holds limited places, and many of our events sell out. For this reason, we request that you cancel at least one week before the first scheduled training. This will allow us to offer your spot to another participants. Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the workshop date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 7-3 days will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made within 2 days will not receive a refund.
