Stage Combat Workshop Turku

During this course participants will deepen their understanding of the art of unarmed combat techniques and sword work for theatre stage. Students will learn about accuracy, safety, and the fundamental techniques needed when engaged in dramatic physical encounters. 

Main focus of the classes is learning the choreographies and creating a scene for them. We will do two choregrapies, one for unarmed combat and one for broad sword. At the end of the workshop participants with minimum of 40 hours of previous experience will have the opportunity to take the NSFS certification test in unarmed and/or broadsword. The test is assessed by NSFS certified teachers, who will grade the understanding, application and techniques demonstrated.

In order to attend the workshop you need at least 10 hours of previous stage combat training. Please note, that to take the test, you need a minimum of 40 hours of training in each weapon.

Adjudicators: Iiro Heikkilä, Oula Kitti, video adjudicator from one of the other NSFS national organisation.

Cost and payment: 50€ for non-members and 30€ for DCF / NSFS members
