Advanced Wire Work Workshop

Two and a half days of flying like a true action hero!  If you are a stunt performer or training to become one,  this comprehensive workshop will be invaluable. Note that it is designed for those who have previous experience with wires. We might be able to open a few entry level places closer to the course. 

During the workshop we will revisit the fundamentals of horizontal and vertical wire pulls, along with basic rigging etiquette. We will then advance to adding rotation into standard wire pulls. We will combine various flying and pulling techniques with fight coreography. 

During the workshop we cover camera angles and film making techniques to enable you capture footage of your work on your own device.

INSTRUCTORS: Oula Kitti, Iiro Heikkilä

Oula Kitti is an Actor, Stunt, Fight Director, and NSFS Stage Combat Instructor with a wide history in physical theatre. He has taught stage combat and directed fights on stage since 2003. As a stunt performer and fight coordinator he works for the main Finnish stunt company Stunt and FX Artists Finland. Oula is a founding member of Dramatic Combat Finland, certified Nordic Stage Fight Society instructor since 2011 and an Honorary Fight Director at the Fight directors Canada. Currently Oula works as an freelance stunt performer and fight director and as a resident stage combat instructor for the Helsinki Theater Academy.  Oula has more than 40 credits at the international movie database as a stunt professional. His latest works include for example The Hatching (Netflix, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2022), Unknown soldier (2017), Deadwind s.1-3 (2018-2020, Netflix) and What Remains (2022). One of his latest projects, Sisu 2021, is currently running in the cinemas around the world now!

Iiro Heikkilä is a Turku-based fight choreographer and stunt actor who has starred in, among other things, the film Sisu (2022) and Dracula for Åbo Svenska Teater (2022-2023). Iiro is a teacher at Dramatic Combat Finland, he has BA in circus arts and MA in sport science. He is a truck driver, sport massage therapist and a parkour teacher. Iiro is a performing artist with a dance and circus background who graduated from NSFS mentor program in 2019, and has been co-teaching with Oula Kitti for half a decade. He has been performing as a professional on stage and screen productions since 2004.

Oula and Iiro have been working together in various theatre, TV and film productions, as well as teaching stage combat and stunts both in Finland and abroad.
